De la Glace Day at Lark's Haven
Why Lark's Haven?
BRIDGTON, Maine - Larks particularly sky larks have provided inspiration for many writers and poets. The Lark in mythology and literature stands for daybreak. Larks are small songbirds. Because they live in fields and meadows, they are a medium brown and therefore cannot use bright plumage to get the attention of the opposite sex. Larks instead rise to great heights while singing to attract a mate. They soar and remain suspended in the air, followed by a fall resembling a parachute dropping to the ground.
A haven is a place of peace and security. A place offering favorable opportunities or conditions. A port.
